Ranchi Diaries: A Slice of Life Comedy Set in a Small Town
Ranchi Diaries is a 2017 Hindi comedy film directed by Sattwik Mohanty and produced by Anupam Kher. The film stars Himansh Kohli, Soundarya Sharma, Taaha Shah, Anupam Kher and Jimmy Sheirgill in the lead roles. The film revolves around the lives of a group of friends who aspire to make it big in the city but get entangled in a series of hilarious incidents in their hometown Ranchi.
Plot
The film follows the adventures of Gudiya (Soundarya Sharma), a wannabe pop singer who runs a beauty parlour with her friends Pinku (Himansh Kohli), Somu (Taaha Shah) and Monu (Pradeep Singh). They also run a YouTube channel called Ranchi Diaries where they showcase their talent and antics. Their dream is to perform at a concert in Mumbai and become famous.
However, their plans are disrupted when they get involved in a bank robbery orchestrated by Thakur Bhaiya (Anupam Kher), a local politician and gangster who wants to use the money to fund his election campaign. The robbery goes wrong and the friends are chased by the police led by Inspector Lallan Singh (Jimmy Sheirgill) who is determined to catch them. The friends have to use their wit and courage to escape from the law and fulfill their dreams.
